About my photography

About Czes

I have spent the best part of my life travelling the length and breadth of the Australian Countryside. I have always enjoyed the wide open spaces and the variety of landscapes this country has to offer.

Some ten years ago the opportunity presented itself to devote more time to photography through the acquisition of my first SLR.

I soon found I was happiest when I was out taking photos of the Australian landscape. I’ve had a lot of fun and have enjoyed trying to obtain images with mood, lighting and character. There was no end to the subject matter I could use for inspiration.

Over the years I have gradually developed my own style and am intent on presenting images which capture the unique characteristics of this wonderful land.

I received a lot of encouragement and support along the way. To all those people who have been part of this journey I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I am look forward to developing my portfolio and sharing it with you.

Equipment

I use a variety of equipment depending on circumstance. This ranges from Canon 35mm(both film and digital) to Pentax 67II for medium format and a Horseman 612 for panoramas. I find the 6x7 format of the Pentax and the 6x12 format of the Horseman gives a very interesting perspective for the viewer. They also yield very impressive results on enlargement when combined with the richness and fine grain of Fuji Velvia film.

My standard kit includes a Manfrotto tripod as well as a Gossen Starlite lightmeter. I would however be totally lost without my alarm clock.

Printing

I have found the Giclee printing process suits my needs. It provides better color accuracy than any other means of reproduction as well as giving greater flexibility in terms of size and print medium. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and are printed with archival quality inks onto canvas, fine-art or photo-base paper.

The Giclee process provides incredibly detailed prints with quality rivaling the more traditional silver halide and gelatin printing processes. As a result images printed using it are commonly found in museums, art and photographic galleries including the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Museum of Modern Art and Chelsea Galleries.

Private Collectors

My images are of the highest quality and sold as limited edition thereby ensuring there distinctiveness and value. They are a feature which can be printed to suit any situation thus complementing existing décor. In addition framing can be arranged to balance existing surroundings.

Corporate

My work is also suitable for furnishing Professional Offices, Hotels, Restaurants and Board Rooms. Increasingly organizations see this as a way of embellishing their premises and undertaking an investment.

These prints can also serve as an award, a reward for staff performance or as a corporate gift.
